Plastic Trim Tool

Part 1: Remove Factory Tail Lights
Step 1: Open Tailgate & Remove Sill Bar
Open the rear door. Use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the trunk sill plate (threshold bar).
Step 2: Remove Weather Seal & Side Panel
Pull back the weather stripping seal near the tail light. Use a trim tool to gently pry off the interior side access panel.

Step 3: Remove Mounting Nuts
Locate the three 10mm nuts securing the tail light assembly. Remove them using a socket wrench.
Step 4: Pull Out Tail Light
From the outside, firmly pull the tail light assembly straight back to release it from the body.
Step 5: Disconnect Plugs
Twist and remove the bulb sockets or disconnect the main harness plugs. (Note: You may need to transfer your reverse bulb if the new light doesn't include one).
Part 2: Install New LED Tail Lights
Step 6: Wiring Connections
Connect the new tail light harness to the factory plugs.
Important: Pay attention to the positive (+) and negative (-) poles. If the light doesn't turn on, flip the plug 180 degrees.
Red wire -> Turn Signal Positive
Black wire -> Ground/Negative

Step 7: Install & Secure
Align the new tail light and push it into place. Secure it by reinstalling the three 10mm nuts from the inside.
(Before reinstalling the interior trim, turn on the ignition and test all functions (Running Light, Brake, Turn Signal, Reverse). Ensure no hyper-flashing occurs.)
Step 8: Reassemble Trim
Reinstall the interior side panel, push the weather seal back into place, and screw in the sill plate.
Common Issues & Solutions
1. Tail light does not turn on after installation
Please first check whether the wiring harness connectors are properly connected and fully seated. Inspect the pins inside the connector to ensure none are bent or misaligned.
If any pins are bent, you may carefully straighten them using a paper clip or other small precision tool, then reconnect the plug securely.
2. Swap test
If the tail light still does not illuminate, try swapping the left and right tail lights to determine whether the issue is related to the light unit itself or the vehicle wiring.
3. Condensation inside the tail light
Condensation may occur due to temperature differences, which is a normal physical phenomenon. After the tail light has been operating for a period of time and the internal temperature stabilizes, the moisture will naturally dissipate.
This does not affect brightness, performance, or the lifespan of the tail light.
