Our story

It started in El Monte in 2008

PrismBeam was founded in 2008 in El Monte, California, by Marcus Chen together with engineer Danny. The goal from day one: complete lighting assemblies that look right, fit right and keep working.

In 2018 we opened our flagship store. Today PrismBeam is a team of 60 people with more than 500,000 sets sold across 18 countries — and we still design, build, check and support every assembly ourselves.
