Installation Guide
Required Tools:
-
Small Flathead Screwdriver
- Ratchet
- 10mm Deep Socket

Step 1: Remove Service Cover
Open the trunk. Locate the access panel directly behind the tail light. Use a small flathead screwdriver to pop open the two clips and remove the cover.
Step 2: Disconnect Wiring Harness
Locate the white power connector inside the housing. Press the locking tab on the plug and disconnect the wiring harness.
Step 3: Remove Mounting Nuts
Use a 10mm deep socket to remove the two mounting nuts (top and bottom). Note: Be careful not to drop the nuts into the body cavity.
Step 4: Remove Factory Tail Light
Pull the tail light assembly straight back. If it's stuck, gently tap the side edge of the lens (as shown) to release the alignment clips, then remove the light.
Step 5: Transfer Harness & Connect
Connect the factory wiring harness to the new LED tail light. Twist and lock the sockets into the new housing. (For full LED assemblies, simply connect the main plug).

Step 6: Check Foam Gasket
Before installing, ensure the foam gasket on the back of the new light is seated flat and correctly. This is crucial to prevent water leaks.
Step 7: Install New Assembly
Align the guide pins with the mounting holes. Push the assembly forward until the side clips snap into place. Ensure the light sits flush with the body.
Step 8: Secure and Reassemble
Reinstall and tighten the two 10mm nuts (do not overtighten to avoid crushing the gasket). Reconnect the power harness and snap the service cover back on.
Common Issues & Solutions
1. Tail light does not turn on after installation
Please first check whether the wiring harness connectors are properly connected and fully seated. Inspect the pins inside the connector to ensure none are bent or misaligned.
If any pins are bent, you may carefully straighten them using a paper clip or other small precision tool, then reconnect the plug securely.
2. Swap test
If the tail light still does not illuminate, try swapping the left and right tail lights to determine whether the issue is related to the light unit itself or the vehicle wiring.
3. Condensation inside the tail light
Condensation may occur due to temperature differences, which is a normal physical phenomenon. After the tail light has been operating for a period of time and the internal temperature stabilizes, the moisture will naturally dissipate.
This does not affect brightness, performance, or the lifespan of the tail light.
