Fits: 2003-2007 Lexus LX470 (UZJ100 facelift). The 1998-2002 LX470 uses different tail lights.
This set replaces the outer lamps on the body and the inner lamps on the tailgate.
Required Tools
- Phillips screwdriver
- 10mm socket and ratchet
- Plastic trim removal tool
- Flathead screwdriver

Part 1: Outer Tail Lights
Step 1: Remove the Outer Light Screws
Open the rear tailgate and remove the two Phillips screws securing the outer tail light to the body.

Step 2: Remove the Outer Light
Gently pull the tail light sideways, away from the vehicle, to release the side clips. Do not pull straight back, or you may damage the alignment pins.

Step 3: Connect and Install the New Outer Light
Remove the factory bulbs from their sockets, then insert the plugs of the new LED tail light into the empty factory bulb sockets until they sit securely. Line up the guide pins, push the new light into place and reinstall the two screws.

Part 2: Inner Tail Lights
Step 4: Remove the Access Cover
On the inside of the upper tailgate, use a trim tool to pop off the small plastic access cover and expose the tail light mounting nuts.

Step 5: Remove the Mounting Nuts
Use a 10mm socket to remove the nuts securing the inner tail light. Take care not to drop them inside the tailgate.

Step 6: Swap the Inner Lights
Pull the old light off the tailgate and clean the mounting surface. Fit the new inner light, making sure its weather gasket seals tightly against the tailgate.

Connect the harness of the new inner light to the factory plug and tuck the wires neatly into the cavity so they are not pinched when you tighten the nuts.

Step 7: Reassemble and Test
Tighten the 10mm nuts from the inside and reinstall the access cover. Close the tailgate and test the brake, reverse and turn signal lights on both sides.

Common Issues and Solutions
Tail light does not turn on after installation. Check that the plugs are fully seated in the sockets and connectors. Inspect the pins inside each connector; if any are bent, carefully straighten them with a small precision tool and reconnect securely.
Swap test. If a tail light still does not work, swap the left and right units to find out whether the issue is the light itself or the vehicle wiring.
Condensation inside the tail light. Temperature differences can cause light condensation, which is normal. Once the light has been on for a while and the internal temperature stabilizes, the moisture clears on its own. It does not affect brightness, performance, or lifespan.
