Installation Guide


Required Tools:

  • Flat Blade Screwdriver (or Panel Clip Tool)

  • 10mm Socket & Ratchet / 10mm

  • Phillips Head Screwdriver

  • Painter's Tap

Step-by-Step Installation Guide

Step 1: Protect the Fenders and Remove Grille Clips

  • Required Tools: Painter's Tape, Flat Blade Screwdriver

  • Instruction: Apply painter's tape along the edge of the fenders to prevent scratches. Use a flat blade screwdriver to pop up and remove the plastic clips securing the top grille cover.

  • Warning / Tip: Plastic clips can be brittle, especially on older vehicles. Press the center pin up gently before pulling the entire clip out to avoid breaking them.

Step 2: Remove Bumper Screws in Wheel Wells

  • Required Tools: Phillips Head Screwdriver

  • Instruction: Turn the steering wheel to gain clearance. Inside the front wheel well, locate and remove the Phillips head screw securing the bumper corner to the fender on both sides.

  • Warning / Tip: These screws are prone to rusting. Apply steady pressure inward while turning to avoid stripping the screw head.

Step 3: Remove Upper Shroud Panel

  • Required Tools: None (Hands only)

  • Instruction: After removing the grille clips and fender screws, slide your hands under the remaining large plastic upper engine shroud panel and carefully lift and pull it forward. Set it aside.

  • Warning / Tip: Ensure you have removed all top clips first. Use steady, even pressure to disengage the shroud from its mounting points without cracking the plastic.

Step 4: Remove Bottom Bumper Screws and Bolts

  • Required Tools: 10mm Socket, Flat Blade Screwdriver

  • Instruction: Crawl under the front bumper. Remove the 10mm bolts and remaining plastic clips holding the splash shield to the bottom of the bumper.

  • Warning / Tip: Keep these lower fasteners categorized separately, as they are often caked with dirt and differ in size from top clips.

Step 5: Remove Hidden Underside Bumper Support Screws

  • Required Tools: Phillips Head Screwdriver / Flat Blade Screwdriver

  • Instruction: Continue underneath the vehicle. Locate and remove the hidden screws and push pins along the splash shield extension and lower bumper support framework to fully release the bumper from the subframe.

  • Warning / Tip: Take your time on these bottom rows; dirt build-up makes them hard to see. Ensure all clips are completely free before trying to pull the bumper.

Step 6: Pull Off the Front Bumper Cover

  • Required Tools: None (Hands only)

  • Instruction: Firmly grasp the corner of the bumper cover by the fender flare and pull outward to unclip it. Once both sides are free, pull the bumper forward off the car and disconnect any fog lights if equipped.

  • Warning / Tip: Pull straight and evenly. Do not drop the bumper on the floor; have a clean cardboard or mat underneath to prevent scratching the paint.

Step 7: Unbolt the Factory Headlight Mounting Bolts

  • Required Tools: 10mm Socket & Ratchet

  • Instruction: Locate and remove the three 10mm bolts securing the headlight housing: one on top, one on the inner side near the grille area, and one on the lower outer corner exposed by the bumper removal.

  • Warning / Tip: The lower bolt can be tight and recessed; use an extension on your ratchet to safely reach it without scratching the vehicle frame.

Step 8: Remove the Lower Headlight Metal Bracket Bolt

  • Required Tools: 10mm Socket & Ratchet

  • Instruction: Look directly underneath the headlight housing. Locate the fourth 10mm bolt securing the lower metal support bracket to the vehicle's frame. Remove this bolt entirely.

  • Warning / Tip: This bolt is often forgotten because it secures the bracket attached to the light, rather than the light housing itself. Do not tug on the headlight until this is removed.

Step 9: Disconnect All Factory Wiring Harnesses

  • Required Tools: None (Hands only)

  • Instruction: Pull the headlight assembly forward slightly to access the back. Press the thumb tabs on each plastic connector to unplug the high beam, low beam, side marker, and turn signal wire harnesses. Lift the headlight completely off the car.

  • Warning / Tip: The connectors might be tight due to road grit. Squeeze the tab firmly and wiggle the plug sideways gently while pulling to release it without snapping the plastic.

Step 10: Transfer the Factory Lower Mounting Bracket to the New Headlight

  • Required Tools: Phillips Head Screwdriver

  • Instruction: Locate the removable factory plastic or metal mounting bracket secured to the bottom/side of the original headlight assembly. Remove the mounting screws using a Phillips head screwdriver, then transfer and reinstall this bracket onto the exact same position on your new replacement headlight.

  • Warning / Tip: Align the bracket's positioning pins with the slots on the new housing perfectly before driving the screws in. Hand-tighten securely, but do not overtighten to avoid cracking the new plastic mounting tabs.

Step 11: Connect Factory Wiring Harnesses and Position the New Headlight

  • Required Tools: None (Hands only)

  • Instruction: Bring the new headlight assembly to the vehicle front. Securely plug all factory electrical wiring harnesses (Low Beam, High Beam, Turn Signal, and Side Marker) back into their respective sockets on the rear of the headlight housing. Slide the assembly back into the chassis mounting rails.

  • Warning / Tip: Push each wire connector in firmly until you hear or feel a clear click to ensure a secure, weatherproof connection. Make sure no wires are pinched behind the housing.

Step 12: Secure the Replacement Headlight Assembly with Fasteners

  • Required Tools: 10mm Socket & Ratchet

  • Instruction: Reinstall and fully tighten all the factory 10mm mounting bolts to secure the headlight assembly back onto the radiator support and lower frame brackets.

  • Warning / Tip: Before fully torqueing down the top bolts, slightly adjust the headlight alignment so that the lens edges align flush with the hood and fender panels for uniform body gaps.

Step 13: Reinstall Front Bumper Cover and Align Body Lines

  • Required Tools: None (Hands only)

  • Instruction: Lift the front bumper cover back onto the vehicle, guiding the center upper section over the grille support area first. Align the bumper corners with the sides of the vehicle and push them firmly straight back into the fender brackets until they snap in.

  • Warning / Tip: Apply even pressure or give the bumper corners a gentle slap with your palm to ensure the built-in plastic teeth fully engage with the side brackets for a flush, gapless fit.

Step 14: Reinstall All Underside Fasteners, Fender Screws, and Top Clips

  • Required Tools: 10mm Socket & Ratchet, Phillips Head Screwdriver, Flat Blade Screwdriver

  • Instruction: Working in the exact reverse order of disassembly, reinstall all underneath splash shield bolts, support screws, and wheel well screws. Place the upper engine shroud panel back into position and secure it by pushing in all top plastic clips. Remove the protective painter's tape.

  • Warning / Tip: Double-check the entire engine bay and undercarriage to ensure no loose clips or screws are left over. Pull the painter's tape slowly at a 45-degree angle to avoid leaving adhesive residue on the paint.



Common Issues & Solutions

1. Light does not turn on after installation

Please first check whether the wiring harness connectors are properly connected and fully seated. Inspect the pins inside the connector to ensure none are bent or misaligned.

If any pins are bent, you may carefully straighten them using a paper clip or other small precision tool, then reconnect the plug securely. 

2. Swap test

If the light still does not illuminate, try swapping the left and right lights to determine whether the issue is related to the light unit itself or the vehicle wiring.  

3. Condensation inside the light

Condensation may occur due to temperature differences, which is a normal physical phenomenon. After the light has been operating for a period of time and the internal temperature stabilizes, the moisture will naturally dissipate.

This does not affect brightness, performance, or the lifespan of the light.
