Fits: 2014-2021 Toyota Tundra (2nd generation), all Double Cab and CrewMax configurations, any bed length.
Your factory blind spot monitoring sensors sit in the rear bumper, not in the tail lights, so this swap does not affect them.
Two bolts and three plugs per side. There is no trim to remove, which makes this one of the quicker installs in the range.
Before You Start
- Read the whole guide and check that all parts are present before you begin.
- Park on level ground, switch the truck off, and disconnect the negative battery terminal while you are handling wiring.
- Set the lamps face-down on a soft towel so the lens does not get scratched.
- Wear gloves and eye protection.
- Do not cut or join any wire you have not identified.
- Leave the protective film on the lens until the install is finished and every function has been checked.
- Do not put dielectric or weather-sealing grease on connectors or sockets.

Required Tools
- Metric socket and ratchet set
- Phillips and flat screwdrivers
- Clean microfiber towels and masking tape
- Electrical tape and zip ties for securing the supplied harness
- A helper for brake light and reverse light testing
What Comes in the Box
Two tail lamps and a resistance box. On the back of each lamp there is a main plug connector (A) and the resistance box (B). All three plugs have to be connected to the truck.

Part 1: Remove the Factory Tail Lights
Step 1: Remove the Mounting Bolts
Lower the tailgate. Beside the tail light there are two mounting bolts, above the tailgate latch and below the support cable. Remove both.
Step 2: Remove the Factory Lamp
Pull the assembly straight outward to release the two locating clips on its side. Pull evenly rather than levering on one corner.
Step 3: Disconnect the Wiring
Unplug the three connectors from the back of the factory lamp. If one is tight, a pair of pliers used gently on the connector body will help, but never pull on the wires.
Part 2: Install the New Tail Lights
Step 4: Connect the New Lamp
Connect the truck's wiring to the matching connectors on the back of the new LED lamp, including the resistance box. Check that each lock tab has seated.
Step 5: Fit the Lamp
Line the two locating clips on the side of the new lamp up with their mounting points and push the assembly smoothly into the body opening.
Step 6: Test Before Final Tightening
Switch the rear lights on and run the turn signals to confirm that everything works, including the sequential sweep.
- Running and parking lights on both sides.
- Brake lights, with a helper on the pedal.
- Left and right turn signals, hazards, and the sequential sweep.
- Reverse lights, with the truck safely in reverse and the parking brake on.
- Startup animation.
- Check for dashboard warnings, hyperflash or flicker.

Step 7: Tighten and Finish
Refit and tighten the two factory mounting bolts, then peel the protective film off the lens. Check that both lamps sit flush with even body gaps and that the seals are properly seated.
Common Issues and Solutions
Tail light does not turn on after installation. Check that all three connectors are fully seated, and check the related fuse and the battery connection. Inspect the pins inside each connector; if any are bent, carefully straighten them with a small precision tool and reconnect securely.
Hyperflash or a dash warning. Confirm the resistance box is connected and secured. Mount it away from heat, moving parts, water paths and sharp edges.
Swap test. If a tail light still does not work, swap the left and right units to find out whether the issue is the light itself or the vehicle wiring.
Condensation inside the tail light. Temperature differences can cause light condensation, which is normal. Once the light has been on for a while and the internal temperature stabilizes, the moisture clears on its own. It does not affect brightness, performance, or lifespan.
