Fits: 2019-2026 Nissan Altima (L34, sixth generation) - all trims.
This is a four-piece set. Two outer lamps sit on the rear quarter panels and two inner lamps sit on the trunk lid. All four are replaced together.
Required Tools
- Ratchet with a 10mm socket
- Plastic trim removal tool or pry bar
- Zip ties or electrical tape for bundling the harnesses
- A helper for brake light testing

What Comes in the Box
- Four LED lamps: two outer (quarter panel) and two inner (trunk lid)
- Two 1.6 m flat link harnesses, one per side, connecting the body to the trunk lid
- One 1.2 m flat link harness running left to right across the trunk lid
Every plug is a direct plug-in connection. No factory wire needs to be cut or spliced.

Part 1: Remove the Factory Tail Lights
Step 1: Free the Trunk Side Trim
Open the trunk. Use a trim tool to release the clips holding the trunk side liner, then pull the liner aside to expose the back of the outer tail light. Move it only as far as you need. Do not remove it completely or fold it sharply.
Step 2: Remove the Outer Tail Light
Press the lock tabs and disconnect the factory connectors. Use the 10mm socket to remove the two nuts holding the outer lamp. Support the lamp from outside the car and pull it straight toward the rear to release it from its locating pins. Hold the connector bodies when unplugging, never the wires.
Step 3: Remove the Inner Tail Light
Pull back the felt liner on the underside of the trunk lid to reach the back of the inner lamp. Disconnect its two connectors, remove the four retaining nuts, then support the lamp from outside and lift it away from the trunk lid.
Part 2: Install and Wire
Step 4: Fit the Outer Lamps
Feed the harness of the new outer lamp through the factory opening in the body and seat the rubber grommet fully back into the opening so the seal holds and the wiring stays put. Connect the new plugs to the factory connectors until each lock tab clicks. Line the lamp up with its mounting points and refit the two nuts.
Step 5: Fit the Inner Lamps
Set the new inner lamp into the factory position and line the mounting studs up with the holes in the trunk lid. Connect it, then refit the four nuts and tighten them evenly. Do not overtighten.
Step 6: Connect the Link Harnesses
Use the two 1.6 m harnesses to join the inner lamp on the trunk lid to the outer lamp on the body, one per side, and the 1.2 m harness to link the left and right inner lamps across the trunk lid. These connections are what make the two sections light and sweep together, so none of them can be skipped.
Where a harness crosses from the trunk lid to the body, route it through the plastic hinge arm the same way the factory wiring runs, so it flexes with the lid instead of being pinched. Bundle the slack with zip ties or electrical tape.
Part 3: Test and Finish
Step 7: Test Every Function
Before any trim goes back on, switch the vehicle on and check both sides: running lights, brake lights with a helper on the pedal, left and right turn signals including the sequential sweep, reverse lights, and the startup animation. Confirm the inner and outer sections are in step with each other on both sides, and check for flicker or hyperflash.
Step 8: Reinstall the Trim
Secure any loose wiring, then refit the trunk lid felt liner and the trunk side liner and press the clips back in.
The Smoked Red Laser Line model is now fully installed. The next section applies only to the RGB Laser Style model.
RGB Laser Style Model: Star Light Running App Setup

1. Remote control pairing. The remote comes pre-paired with the lamps and switches to Red Light Driving Mode (static red, no flowing animation) with one press. If the remote does not work, press the brake pedal and hold the remote button for 10 seconds to pair it again.
2. Animation control. The app controls the running-light animations. The startup animation is preset and cannot be changed.
3. Download the app. Search for "Star Light Running" in the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code on the controller box.
4. Bluetooth connection. Open the app, tap Add Device (Figure 2), open the interface (Figure 3), and select the nearby device.
5. Adjusting modes.
- Dynamic mode: the number in the center of the blue box shows the current mode. Tap + or - to switch effects, or AUTO to cycle through all of them.
- Static color: drag the color wheel in the green box, or tap a preset color. This stops any running animation.
- Brightness: drag the slider in the first row of the red box.
- Speed: drag the slider in the last row of the red box.
Tip: if you used the older "Light Running" app and have trouble connecting, use "Star Light Running", the upgraded version.
Only one side responds? The left and right lights sync through the link harness across the trunk lid. Check that it is plugged in securely at both ends.
Road use. Color modes are for show and display use where permitted. Confirm that the standard road-light functions work normally before using any color mode, and return the lights to Red Light Driving Mode for driving.
Common Issues and Solutions
Tail light does not turn on after installation. Check that the harness connectors are fully seated. Inspect the pins inside each connector; if any are bent, carefully straighten them with a small precision tool and reconnect securely.
Swap test. If a tail light still does not work, swap the left and right units to find out whether the issue is the light itself or the vehicle wiring.
App cannot connect. Turn on Bluetooth and Location Services on your phone (Android needs Location for Bluetooth scanning). The vehicle's running lights (parking lights) must be on to power the Bluetooth module. Keep other strong signal sources away from the vehicle.
Condensation inside the tail light. Temperature differences can cause light condensation, which is normal. Once the light has been on for a while and the internal temperature stabilizes, the moisture clears on its own. It does not affect brightness, performance, or lifespan.
