Fits: 2013-2020 Toyota GT86, Subaru BRZ and Scion FR-S (ZN6). Not for cars with factory adaptive headlights.
The front bumper has to come off to reach the headlight bolts, so plan for that before you start. The step people most often miss is Step 5, transferring the bumper bracket.
Required Tools
- 10mm socket wrench
- Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
- Electrical tape (optional)

Part 1: Remove the Factory Headlights
Step 1: Remove the Front Bumper
Open the hood and take out the bolts and clips along the top, underneath, and in both wheel wells. Disconnect the fog lights and side markers, then lift the bumper away carefully.

Step 2: Disconnect the Power Harness
Press the locking tab on the connector and unplug the main factory harness from the back of the headlight.

Step 3: Remove the Mounting Bolts
Use the 10mm socket to remove the five bolts holding the headlight: on the top, on the side, and on the lower bracket.

Step 4: Remove the Factory Headlight
With all five bolts out, draw the headlight assembly outward and off the car.

Part 2: Install the New Headlights
Step 5: Transfer the Bumper Bracket
The black plastic bumper bracket on the bottom of the factory headlight has to come off and go onto the new assembly. The bumper will not line up without it.

Step 6: Connect the Wiring
Plug the main factory connector into the new headlight.
RGB model: also connect the additional ACC wire and the Bluetooth control module, following the wiring diagram included with the lights.

Step 7: Function Test
Before the bumper goes back on, switch the car on and check every function on both sides: DRL, turn signals, low beam, high beam, and the RGB effects if fitted.

Step 8: Install and Reassemble
Once everything checks out, tighten all the mounting bolts and refit the front bumper in the reverse order you removed it.

The next section applies only to the RGB model.
RGB Model: Happy Lighting App Setup
- The Happy Lighting app controls the colors and animation modes of the DRL. The startup animation is preset and cannot be changed.
- Download: search for "Happy Lighting" in the App Store or Google Play, or scan the QR code on the controller box.
- Pairing: turn on Bluetooth on your phone. Open the app, tap the menu icon (arrow 1), and select your device from the list (arrow 2).
- Color: tap the Adjust tab (arrow 3) and use the color wheel (arrows 4 and 5) to choose a solid color.
- Dynamic modes: tap the Music or Mode tab (arrow 6) to choose an animation. Use slider 8 to adjust speed and slider 9 to adjust brightness.

Road use. Color modes are for show and display use where permitted. Confirm that the standard road-light functions work normally before using any color mode.
Common Issues and Solutions
Headlight does not turn on after installation. Check that the harness connectors are fully seated. Inspect the pins inside each connector; if any are bent, carefully straighten them with a small precision tool and reconnect securely.
Swap test. If a headlight still does not work, swap the left and right units to find out whether the issue is the light itself or the vehicle wiring.
App cannot connect. Turn on Bluetooth and Location Services on your phone (Android needs Location for Bluetooth scanning). Keep other strong signal sources away from the vehicle.
Condensation inside the headlight. Temperature differences can cause light condensation, which is normal. Once the light has been on for a while and the internal temperature stabilizes, the moisture clears on its own. It does not affect brightness, performance, or lifespan.
